Sinacher Gupf
Sinacher Gupf would never be a choice for a person visiting the Karavanke for the first time as there are more prominent and interesting mountains. What it offers is sense of seclusion and peace as it is unlikely to meet anyone in here. Views from the top are limited, yet there is a nice place to sit around to chill including table and benches. The eastern ridge is also rewarding to ascend with great views into Bodental valley.
Starting from Sinach we must wander through the village and then go along the 4x4 road. Entering the forest the steepness will rise and eventually we will be cutting through couple of ravines. This part is not that pleasant but after 600 meters of ascent we are on the Oreinzsattel. Here some caution is required not to lose the trail. Once again we continue a bit via 4x4 road but then enter the path that runs in southern direction. After couple of zigzags we land on the eastern ridge which we follow till the peak.
Descent goes along the western ridge along a path and then also a 4x4 road in the direction of Strugarjach. This road will get better after a while and will take us back to Sinach.
Cloudy and moderately cold felt but altogether pretty warm for February with no jacket required.
Marked well enough but not that easily passable. A bit flooded in the lower part, lots of fallen branches indicate it is not frequented. In the ridge part lots of fallen trees but handled with chainsaw - so passable yet sometimes awkward. Snow present only in patches on the top..

Starting point reached by car. Can be also reached by bus getting off in Feistriz im Rosental which means a bit more ascent using the asphalt road.
There is no real parking, just a little bit of space by the main road close to the hiking signpost.
