Zermatt is completely car-free, meaning private vehicles are not permitted past Täsch. Drivers must park in Täsch, where the Matterhorn Terminal offers over 2,100 covered parking spaces alongside several private parking lots.

From Täsch, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn shuttle train departs every 20 minutes (with hourly or 24/7 service on weekends) and takes about 12 minutes to reach Zermatt station in the village center. Swiss Travel Pass and GA travelcards are fully valid. Alternatively, private taxi and minibus shuttle services run 24/7 to the entrance of Zermatt, or you can hike along the marked 5.5 km trail in approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
